It is about that time in the week where you need to lock in who is going to be in your fantasy football lineups going into this weekend’s slate of games in the NFL. The regular season is winding down and it is time for you to make a push for a playoff spot, it is important to put in the players that will get you the maximum number of points. Here are the players you should start heading into week 13:
Quarterback Trevor Lawrence, Jacksonville Jaguars
Trevor Lawrence is fresh off a thrilling win over the Ravens on a game-winning two-point conversion. Lawrence played a key role in the Jaguars fourth win of the year as he threw for 321 yards through the air and three touchdowns against a physical Baltimore defense. Lawrence currently ranks as the QB12 in fantasy and will look to take advantage against a favorable matchup this weekend.
The second-year quarterback out of Clemson will face off against the Detroit Lions. The Lions have allowed the most fantasy points per game to quarterbacks, 23.8. Lawrence will be wanting to continue his momentum that he had from his big game at home against the Ravens. The matchup has a potential to be a high-scoring shootout and that can provide opportunity for Lawrence to elevate over 20 fantasy points once again.
With the matchup that Lawrence has in place it makes him a top streaming option this week if you are in need to plug in a quarterback at the starting position. Feel confident about plugging Lawrence in your lineups this weekend against Detroit.
Running Back Aaron Jones, Green Bay Packers
It hasn’t been the season that Green Bay fans were hoping that they would see from the Packers in 2022. Like the Packers, Aaron Jones has been up and down in the fantasy landscape as he can go off one week and then the next lay an egg. This week he will face off against the Bears defense that he has been quite familiar with.
Jones had success earlier this season in week two against Chicago’s defense where he ran for 132 yards, 38 receiving yards and two touchdowns. His performance would be good enough to reach his season-high with 32 fantasy points. The Bears have allowed 25.9 fantasy points per game against the running back position, which currently ranks eight most in the NFL.
With the history that Jones has against this Bears defense and the fact that he can go off at any week will give some confidence in those who have Jones on their roster. The Packers RB1 is a must-start against a Chicago defense that has had their issues stopping the run this season.
Wide Receiver Garrett Wilson, New York Jets
Garrett Wilson is turning into the go-to target for Mike White and Wilson has benefitted from the Jets moving on from Zach Wilson. The rookie wide receiver out of Ohio State had a monster game last week where he hauled in five receptions for 95 yards and two touchdowns in the Jets 31-10 win over the Bears. The matchup will continue to be favorable for Wilson as New York will take on the Minnesota Vikings.
The Vikings defense have struggled against the wide receiver position this week in terms of fantasy purposes. Minnesota have allowed the fifth most fantasy points per game to the position (39.2). The Jets will have to throw the ball more and get into a shoot-out if they want to come out on top in this matchup.
Wilson showed last week what he is capable of in this Jets offense and expect that production to continue in week 13 against the Vikings defense. The Jets offense will have to air in out to keep up with the high-powered Minnesota offense and Wilson should be in your lineups this weekend.
Tight End Dalton Schultz, Dallas Cowboys
Dalton Schultz is coming off a monster game on Thanksgiving in the Cowboys 28-20 win over the Giants. Schultz was able to haul four receptions for 31 yards and two touchdowns. The star tight end showed you what he is capable of and has a nose for finding the ball when Dallas gets inside the 10-yard line. His performance was good enough for him to finish with 19 fantasy points against the Giants.
This week, Schultz and the Cowboys take on the Indianapolis Colts. The Colts defense have been suspect at times, especially when their offense can’t get into any rhythm that keeps their defense on the field for the majority of the game. Schultz has found his groove this season with Dak Prescott and expect that to continue when the Cowboys take on the Colts this Sunday.
Schultz has a ceiling every week, especially with the way he has been able to find the endzone as of late. As long as Prescott is his quarterback he will be able to provide valuable production for your lineups at the tight end position.
