Nine LSU Tigers Invited to 2023 NFL Scouting Combine

The 2023 NFL Scouting Combine is just a few weeks away as the annual event will kick off on February 28th in Indianapolis. Nine LSU Tigers were invited to this year’s NFL Scouting Combine where they will be able to meet with teams, go through medical evaluations and work out in front of scouts. Check out which former Tigers will be participating in the upcoming scouting combine:


Micah Baskerville, Linebacker:


Micah Baskerville has been a veteran on the defensive side during his five-year career at LSU. Baskerville was named to the Butkus Award watch list heading into the 2022 season as he was the top returning tackler for the Tiger defense. In the 2022 season, Baskerville racked up 89 total tackles, one sack and one interception. His lone interception on the season resulted in a pick-six against Southern in week two of the season.

Kayshon Boutte, Wide Receiver:


Kayshon Boutte was a Preseason All-America selection heading into the 2022 season even coming off a 2021 season that was shortened due to an ankle injury that sidelined him for most of the season. Boutte has the ability to create space in the open field and has the ability to score every time he has the ball in his hands. He didn’t have the season he was hoping for during the 2022 season as he only scored two touchdowns throughout the year. Boutte finished the year with 48 receptions for 538 yards.


Anthony Bradford, Offensive Line:


Anthony Bradford showed his versatility during his career at LSU as he played three different positions on the offensive line. In the 2022 season, Bradford appeared in 13 games for the Tigers. Bradford played a total of 899 offensive snaps and was a key contributor for the LSU offensive line that had to reload during the offseason after losing key veteran starters to the NFL Draft.

Mekhi Garner, Cornerback:


Mekhi Garner would fit right in as he would transfer from Louisiana-Lafayette to LSU prior to the start of the 2022 season. Garner would start at cornerback in all 13 games for the Tigers as he would finish the season with 43 tackles and eight pass breakups. He would be able to help a LSU secondary, like the Tiger offensive line reload as Brian Kelly hit the transfer portal to replace key starters.

Ali Gaye, Defensive Line:


Ali Gaye started his collegiate career at the junior college level before transferring to LSU heading into the 2020 season. During the 2022 season, Gaye registered 36 total tackles, 6.0 tackles for loss and 2.5 sacks. Gaye would show his leadership on and off the field as he was named a team captain heading into the 2022 season.


Jaray Jenkins, Wide Receiver:


Jaray Jenkins throughout his time at LSU has developed in one of the most underrated receiver in the college football landscape and he has become a reliable target in the Tiger offense. Jenkins has been able to use his leadership to teach the young receivers that come through the program. In the 2022 season, Jenkins had 27 receptions for 404 yards and six touchdowns.

B.J. Ojulari, Linebacker:


B.J. Ojulari has been a difference maker for LSU’s defense as he has been able to show his explosiveness off the ball. In the 2022 season, Ojulari racked up 58 total tackles, 5.5 sacks, one fumble forced and one fumble recovery. He has shown throughout his career with the Tigers that he can cause problems for opposing offenses in the passing and running game.

Jaquelin Roy, Defensive Line:


Jaquelin Roy was a menace in the interior of LSU’s defensive line as he is a solid run stuffer that can get at the quarterback. During the 2022 season, Roy registered 49 total tackles, 0.5 sacks and one fumble recovery. Roy would be a key figure in the Tiger talented defensive front.


Jay Ward, Defensive Back:


Jay Ward has shown his versatility during his time at LSU as he played cornerback, safety and nickel. In the 2022 season, Ward finished with 60 tackles, 2.5 tackles for loss, an interception and a fumble recovery. Ward would be named SEC Defensive Player of the Week during the 2022 season after his performance against Mississippi State. He has developed into being a leader in the Tiger secondary and he had exceptional ball skills.
